Shantou is located in the east of Guangdong Province, on the southern tip of the Hanjiang Delta, adjacent to Chaozhou in the north, near the South China Sea in the southeast, and neighboring Jieyang in the west, enjoying convenient transportation, which is well known as the hub of South China and the portal of the south of the Five Ridges. It is a beautiful port city in southern China, and one of the five special economic zones in China.
